2011 Brookfield Show

Hi Readers, as I mentioned in my last post its a busy time for me and the rest of GAP as promo season is in full swing. We have just spent three days at the Brookfield show which is always a greyt place to be.

Despite some very soggy conditions and a relocation to the art building we all had fun, sold heaps of greyhound merchandise, ate lots of goodies and of course gave out a lot of hound love.

I hope you enjoy the pictures -

Prancer ready for action.

Aunty Leanne with Pumpkin and a young admirer.

Andrew gives Hope a cuddle. Hasn't she grown into a big girl!

Precision horse stacking was on display.

As was precision vintage motorcycle stacking.

Pumpkin wants ears just like her uncle Prancer when she grows up.

These children were horrified to learn that I had gone on lunch and they would have to wait an hour to pat me.

Prancer scoffs down some saffron rice during his break.

Pumpkin practices planking on her mum.

Aunty Leanne won the chicken chasing contest by a nose.

The pensioner round up is a new event at this years show.

Pumpkin's flatulence reached new heights. Its weaponisation is being researched in a top secret laboratory.

Prancer hamming it up in some old hats we found.

Pumpkin turns the cute factor up to 11.

And receives a stern warning from the local police about breaking the cuteness barrier.

Loki trys his luck in a game of skill.

Some 3D ceramic mosaics by local artist John Fegan.

Loki suffers stoically through the obligatory silly hat photo.

Jaydee gives me a helping paw.

The cause of the sudden increase in serious brain injuries at  Brookfield may have been found.

These three lovely ladies posed with Pumpkin for the local paper.

Me with one of the locals.

Ever wonder what happens to old girl guides? Wonder no more. Mmmm cookies!

Five days old and believed to be delicious.

Jess helped out at the pony ride concession for the day. Is SPAP the next adoption programme to be started in Queensland?

This young lady drops in every year to get her greyhound fix. She bought her mum back today to meet us all.

Prancer says "told you I was a lap dog". The numbness in Mum's legs is slowly fading.

This cowgirl gives Miley a pat.

A final cuddle for Jaydee before we all headed home exhausted.

Well Readers, I'm off for a three day snooze-a-thon. Check back soon for details on the Dayboro and Samford shows. Bye for now - Murphy.

Dog's Breakfast at Decker Park

Hi Readers, it seems that everybody wants a piece of the Murpster. Today we headed off to Brighton for the Brisbane City Council's Dog's Breakfast.

It was another great day in the Sunshine State and heaps of people turned up. We thought that the numbers would be down as the RSPCA's million paws walk was also on but we were wrong. Aunty Leanne went to that event and said there were heaps of hounds there as well. Of course, if you have ever had a greyhound as a pet then you would know how greyt we are. If you haven't, what are you waiting for ??

Have a look at these pics, I hope you enjoy them.

Honey the cougar came with us today to make up the numbers. Little did she suspect it was also her annual bath day.

Hope and I in our lounge jackets pre-show.

It warmed up later in the morning.

Someone opened a tin of small fluffies in the dog park and chaos followed.

BCC local councillor for Deagon Victoria Newton poses with me. I was distracted by the small fluffies savaging each other.

Fabulous Freddy the former foster trys out the balance beam.

Fabulous Freddy's mate Reba give visitors to the stand a smile.

The Pugboks were there.
As was this fancy young lady.

 A meeting of the minds?

OK now darlings, give me a profile shot!

State member for Sandgate Vicky Darling poses with Mum, Hope, Honey and I along with her daughter and Crystal the lab.

Somebody call Ripleys, a greyhound lost an eating contest. Freddy suspects it was rigged.

Look at the turn up and the weather.

Mmmm...free BBQ breakfast.
The Brisbane City Council staff giving advice to a pet owner.

This shaggy dog waiting for a turn to compete in the best behaved dog competition. No greyhounds were entered for some reason?

Mum was unable to resolve the feud between Hope and Reggie the BCC mascot.

Reggie lined up for a bath. I hope Honey left her some hot water.
A picture of Mum, Dad and visitors to the stand with their humans.

Anyway readers, after two solid days of promos I am off for a long long nap before dinner. See you all next time - Murphy.
PS, see you all at the Brookfield show next weekend.

Wholesale Nurseries Australia Fun Day

Hi Readers, Hope and I joined Mum , Dad and Aunty Leanne at the Wholesale Nurseries Australia Fun Day at Pimpama today.

It was a lovely day with the weather being just right. We love to get out and spread the word about greyhound adoption and these promos always get a good level of enquiry.

I hope you enjoy the pics-

Ready to go!

This ginger human pup and I watch each other warily.

Hope wins a heart.

Morning tea time, Mmmmmmmmmmmmm!

Pumpkin sits for some banana bread (or was that Banana sits for some pumpkin bread?)

Mum and I taking about hounds.

Me getting a scritch.

 More talkin' about hounds.

An aerial shot of pumpkin getting mobbed by fans.

Hope gets a lift from Mum.

Don't pat her, pat me, pat me pleads Jaydee.

Human pups were on sale somewhere.

Part of my international fan club dropped in to say hi.

This young possum was a hit with the visitors. I'm sure I have a possum grits recipe somewhere.

Thats its from me for today Readers. I'm off for a snooze after our busy day out and then it will be dinner time. Until next time - Murphy.
