What?, No Coldcuts?

Hi Readers, I thought you would like to see some pictures of the GAP foster carer training day that I went to today. Enjoy!

My hopes are dashed as I search for a quick snack.

Bye for now readers - Murphy.

Adopt a Greyhound ...

... and lose anything that's even remotely remotely soft?

Homer, Rosie, and I together with honouree greyhound Cherry take control of the bed for a snuggle.

I think Mum and Dad should buy two king size beds and put them together so we greys can sleep in comfort.

Psst, don't tell anybody. Its our secret!

Hi Readers, I've had a lot of email about our beach walk so I've decided to share the location with you. Please keep it a secret though as we don't want the beach getting over run with paparazzi and other undesirables.

Google Earth's view of "my" beach.

Please ensure that you & your hounds read & understand this sign before going onto the beach!

I don't recommend you let your greys off leash though given our immense speed and predisposition to stick our heads into smelly bait buckets. Mmm...smelly bait buckets ... ughhhh.

You can also find a map here. Bye for now Readers - Murphy.

Castaway?

Greetings Readers, yesterday we went to Bribie island which is about 30 minutes from the House of Hound. It was a lovely late winters day and we had the surf beach to ourselves (no surf though!). It really makes you appreciate what a beautiful part of the world we have here.

Ready for action.

If you look carefully at the fork of this tree, you'll be able to spot a lace monitor that greeted us in the car park. he was about 70cms long (or about two feet for the old timers and non metric folk).

We had the beach to ourselves (Don't try this during school holidays!).

A candid shot of yours truly!

Mmmm... potato chips ...ahhhh.

It wasn't long before the papparazi tracked me down so we decided to leave.

Farewell to beautiful Bribie Island.

Say Hi to Rosie

Hi Readers, I'd like to introduce you to Rosie who is our latest foster at the House of Hound.

She is a seven year old girl who loves a cuddle and a snooze. She is staying with us while she recovers from surgery to some wounds on her neck. Rosie is getting on well with my little sisters Honey and Cherry (If she can get along with Honey, she can get along with anybody!).

Rosie showing her playful side, as well as her lovely shaved tummy from her desexing operation.

Farewell 2009 "Ekka"

Hi Readers - Mum, Dad and I are resting up today after a big week at the show promoting GAP.

What a week its been with loads of fairy floss, dagwood (corn) dogs and cuddles for the greys. We've been in the grand parade (an ekka tradition), been judged in the ring, Dad has given talks about greyhounds in between judging events, Kirsty has been interviewed by radio and television stations, I've got to meet celebrities who are almost as famous as I am and we have met heaps of lovely people who want to adopt and foster greyhounds.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Katy has security escort her to the GAP display. Her new single "I kissed a Grey" is about to be released.

The GAP team in the grand parade on people's day.

Me snoozing in between events.

Be Afraid, Be Very Afraid

Hi Readers, I wanted to make you aware of a rare demon that might be lurking within your greyhound. We have the first photographic confirmation of the rumoured Sucrosious Demonicus as shown by this snap of Coco Nut.

Mmmmm.... toffee apple ..... Ahhhhh.

The good news is that it is easily exorcised by simply not eating sweets in front of your hound.

Don't say you haven't been warned! -Bye for now Readers -Murphy.

GAP at the Brisbane "Ekka"

Hi everybody, the GAP team have been hard at work promoting greyhound adoption at the Royal Brisbane show (known to the locals as the "Ekka").

Pepe Gets Her Forever family

Our latest foster, the lovely Pepe, went to her forever home today.

Forever day is always a day of mixed emotions for us at the House of Hound - sadness at not having our friend around to play with but much happiness at the thought of Pepe going to a lovely family who will love her forever (& who have a handsome grey for her to play with). I know Dad will miss her as she would often curl up with him on the lounge.

Pepe (on the right) with her forever Dad and brother Tiger.

Tiger looks a lot like our Homer and is very friendly.

Anyway, we know she has fallen buttered side up with her new family. We are getting a new foster sometime this week and look forward to introducing him to you upon his arrival.

Bye for now readers - Murphy.

GAP Walk & Picnic

Hi Readers, after the GAP team's busy year so far, we decided that it was time for a relaxing walk and picnic at the university of Queensland at St Lucia. A greyt time was had by all (except for the guinea fowl who decided they wanted to attack us for walking around the lake!)

We need to charge our batteries as we will be manning the Greyhound Lounge at the Royal National Association's show starting next Saturday. This is our biggest promo of the year and its very tiring being adored by the public for 10 days or so. We hope to see all our Brisbane readers at the "Ekka", drop on in at the dog pavilion and say hi.

It was also a milestone birthday for Michelle today. We put a little birthday music in the RHS of this blog to celebrate.

Pepe takes a snooze after the walk and picnic lunch.

See you all at the Ekka. Bye for now Readers - Murphy. (No guinea fowl were harmed in making of this blog)
