How You Doin'?

Its springtime at the House of Hound and a young man's thoughts turn to ... well pretty much what young men think about all the time.

Anyway, I thought you might like this short movie of our resident peacock,P1,trying his luck with one of the girls. As you can see, she isn't the slightest bit interested but you have to give him an A for effort.

Bye for now - Murphy.

Queensland University Walk & Breakfast

The dog luver's team got an early start and went for a walk around the UQ campus this morning.

It was already very warm and humid at 07:00 hours (thunder storms are predicted for later today). The grounds looked especially lovely now that the jacaranda trees are in bloom with their purple flowers.

All the hounds had a good time and we even managed to share some egg on toast with Dad (when he wasn't looking).

I hope you enjoy the pics - Bye for now Readers - Murphy

A Halloween Surprise For The Power Company ?

Hi Readers, strange noises where heard coming from our fuse box last night. Investigations had to wait until this morning and this is what we found.

This should prove amusing the next time an unsuspecting meter reader throws the fuse box door open and finds my little friend inside. Water dragons are harmless of course but can give you a love nip if you bother them. This guy likes to play dead even if touched and then spring into action to run away.

I hope I'm here when it happens! - Bye for now - Murphy

Ready Freddy?

Or alternatively titled "Don't cross the streams". I'd like you to meet Freddy, our latest foster boy. He is five years old, very friendly and loves a bit of rough housing. Of course, having three boys in the house does cause some issues at walk time as we seem to have a shortage of power poles in the area and therefore we all need to mark them as our own. This then leads to danger of crossing the streams which we all know is a bad idea.

Anyway - here are some pics of Freddy with a warning from the ghost busters team. Bye for now - Murphy

For Tamale

The House of Hound was deeply saddened this week to learn that our friend Katie's beautiful greyhound Tamale was taken from her unexpectedly. The vet suspects that Tamale had a stroke given how quickly events unfolded.

It just goes to show that nobody knows how long they have on the earth and that we need to make the most of everyday. Until we see you again, play all day long at the bridge darling and thank you for all the love you gave.

Make sure you cuddle your hounds daily - bye for now - Murphy

Goodbye Rosie

My sweet foster sister Rosie is all healed and on her way to her new home. Rosie is moving to acreage near Brisbane and will also be getting a new greyhound brother call Mick.

We dropped Rosie off at her final foster carer's house this morning. Rosie and Mick will be going to their forever home this week and her new mum & dad are very excited.

Here is a pic of them at their last foster home.

Sasha gets a greyhound sandwich from Mick & Rosie.

Bye for now Readers - Murphy.
