Squatters at the House of Hound

Good morning Readers, after the recent floods in SE Queensland (we received over 600mm in a few days) we awoke to find that squatters had moved onto our smaller dam near the riding school.

Dad says they are called geese and are a little bit like ducks. I had heard of geese before because I watched "A Christmas Carol" with the family last December but I had never seen one before. They are also very vocal and seem to want to echo locate each other even when they are in plain sight of one another.

Anyway I know just what to do with them - "You there boy, what day is this?" Mmmm ... goose... Ahhhh. I'm off to find my chestnut stuffing recipe.

Bye for now - Murphy.

Easter Saturday Get Together

The Dog Luver's team got together at Steve & Suzanne's property yesterday to relax and meet the two new additions to our group - Stirling & Georgie the Collie pups who only recently arrived from their breeder in Tasmania. They are very nice pups (for non greyhounds) and they had a great time playing with all the other dogs. Stirling lives with Snip who is a GAP greyhound and Georgie lives with Benson the German Shepherd.

My brothers Homer, Oscar and I all had a great time. I think Homer is a little keen on Springer the GAP greyhound who was adopted by Steve & Suzanne! I have been teasing him about it since we got home.

Dad says that this is what heaven will be like - Lots of dogs and good people. I hope you like these photos of the day. Happy Easter from everybody at the House of Hound.

Georgie & Stirling looking sweet.

Benson finds out its harder than he thought to outrun a greyhound!

Anvet Open Day

Well readers, I'm not a happy hound today. Mum & Dad went to the Anvet open day today at Kedron and left my greyhound brothers and I at home. Anvet is a big supporter of the Greyhound Adoption Program so it was important that GAP lent their support to the day to show our appreciation. Dad said he couldn't take us because they had to go to a party afterwards in the city and they couldn't manage to go to the open day, then drive us home and then drive back to the Jade Buddha in time for the party. He seems to have forgotten that my A list celebrity status gets me into more places than Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan combined and that any restaurant that doesn't admit me isn't worth being seen at.

Anyway, here are some pictures of the open day and I'm not in any of them!

Jenny the greyhound and I don't know what.

Mum & Maggie

Curly the greyhound and an admirer.

Kirsty and Goldie the greyhound learn were bacon comes from (Mmm... bacon)

Are you my mum?

I'm off to sulk now readers. I'll let you know if I have forgiven Mum & Dad soon. Bye for now - Murphy.
