2013 Samford Show.

Hi Readers, this weekend was the Samford show. You might remember last year was a wash out with some greys developing webbing between their toes to help navigate the grounds. We had much better weather this year, although Sunday was a little damp.

I hope you like the photos from around the grounds -

O Rly? Yarly, the powerful owl is found in Samford and its surrounds.
I think its still dryer than last year's show!
Mum and aunty Sue at the GAP stand.
Mum with my aunties Gail, Gina and Mel.
Prancer getting some love on Saturday.
Did somebody say "Girl Guide Cookies?"
Prancer did defect to the guide display but they sent him back because he doesn't have a blue card.
Working the crowd.
What a load of ... great sand sculpting at the show.
Oz and Pranny with our first visitor to the stand.
Prancer having a quiet moment between rushes.
The local minstrels singing oldies for the crowd.
The most popular form of transport to get to the show. Who needs those new fangled automobiles?
Murphy cam out and about near the cooking hall.
I think some people should only ever have this type of pet.
This sheep was just walking down the street when suddenly....
All tired out after a big day getting pats and cuddles.
Aunty Gail and Mum getting ready for the next rush.
Brother Ozzy catching some rays at the show.
Ann and Julia joined us on Saturday to talk about greys to the crowd.
 Ozzy gets another fan.
Looks like the monolith from 2001 a space odyssey ?
Teddy won a lot of hearts this weekend.
Julia and Ozzy represented team fawn.
Roley out and about at Samford.
It was hot work on Saturday so Dad shared his milkshake with me. I got the ice cream!
Some sort of child sacrifice ritual at the show.
"But where are the chops" asks Ozzy?
The vomitorium ride in full swing.
 Mum gives Teddy a cuddle.
Are greyhounds good with kids? Could be!
Me pacing myself at the show. Somebody has to show the noobs how its done.
The copperhead road still display was very popular before it was shut down by the sheriff.
"Yo Dog!". Claire goes gangsta.
Yours truly waiting in the car for Mum to arrive on day two.
Team blue with Eddie and Dreamy on day two.
Talking about soggy hounds.
Bella was all glammed up on Sunday.
Eddie having a special moment at the end of day two.

"OK Lady, hand over the cupcake and nobody gets hurt". Mum learnt that this wasn't the best place for a snack.

Well Readers, I must pop off for dinner and a snooze now. Thanks to everybody who volunteered this weekend and to all those who came for a pat. See you soon - Murphy.

Bribie Island GAP Family Walk.

Hi Readers, its winter here in Australia and we had a gorgeous full moon last night. We set off to meet the gang at Woorim Beach, Bribie Island this morning and what a cool, crisp morning it was.

We also ran into some fisherman (both human and animal) on the beach which kept the hounds very interested. I hope you enjoy the pics-

Not bad for winter weather is it?

 Did somebody say poodle?
Hoots Mon! Its Tarzie rugged up and looking very happy about it.
 Getting ready to walk.
"Ah, its going to get me and its cold!"
Another fabulous morning in Queensland.
There are fish in the nets and the gulls know it.
As do the dolphins.
The fishermen starting to bring in their nets.
The water would have been freezing this morning but they had to get the fish in.
Part of this morning's catch. I thought fish came in cat food cans.
Some of the GAP team watching the catch.
 Brother Ozzy being photogenic.
Small fry Teddy the tripod hadn't seen sand before this morning. I think he likes it.
One of our favorite non greys at the walk.
Practicing for a career as a tracker?
"Wow, all this sand and sticks too? What a great place"
Brother Eddie went further up the beach than we did.
On the walk back to the car park.
Most of the gang. As always, the public love seeing all the greys together and we got lots of cuddles.
"That's not a stick, this is a stick" says a passing dog to Teddy.
What a greyt way to spend Sunday morning.
The beagle brigade couldn't match our numbers.
"That sand gets everywhere". I wasn't silly enough to fall for the "that is a warm shower" trick.
Some of the gang at Nat's Shack. Thanks for the goodies guys.
We got heaps of attention from the other cafe patrons this morning.
 "Those chips will be mine!"
"Success" thinks Ozzy as he chows down.
Mum and Eddie at the cafe.
 Ozzy cuddles our Aunty Sharon.
"Aw, do we really have to go home Dad?"

Well Readers, after a hard morning of walking, watching the fishermen and dolphins and hanging out at the cafe, I need to have a lie down. Bye for now - Murphy.

Happy Birthday To Me!

Hi Readers, I has my eighth birthday earlier this week and Dad made me a cake today to celebrate. We couldn't do it during the week as Mum and Dad both have to have jobs to support my lifestyle.

My "cake" was described by chef as a viande roulade served with hand made hound bones and garnished with porc crackling and dried foie flakes. Mmmmmm -porc !!!!!!!!!!
Getting ready to blow out the candles...
... Job done, now lets eat!

Anyway Readers, as celebrations are likely to continue here for a while I might get some shut eye before chef wakes me for dinner. Its good to be me! Bye for now - Murphy.

Introducing Teddy

Hi Readers, I wanted to introduce you to Teddy. He is a 7 month old greyhound pup who has lost a leg and who is staying with us for a while.

Teddy's owners paid to have him all fixed up and even though he isn't as fast as I am he can still give the pack a run for their money. He has also discovered that with the right velocity and approach vector he can get onto the couch for a cuddle and a snooze so that proves he is all greyhound?

If you come to any GAP promotions you might be lucky enough to meet me Teddy and I'm sure he would love to meet you as well.

Teddy modelling his GAP hat at a recent promo.

Anyway Readers, I must go secure my snoozing spot before the tripod terror gets there first. Bye for now - Murphy.
