Guide Dogs Qld Octoberfetch

Hi Readers, the GAP team headed off to Petrie park today to support Qld Guide dogs on their Octoberfetch day. It so  windy that Chihuahuas were flapping about on the end of their leads like washing on a clothesline. Other than that, a greyt day was had by all.

It was also terrific to note how well socialised the visiting dogs were and how responsible their owners were, well done to everybody who attended.

I hope you like the photos -

Some of the locals performing swan lake at Petrie park.

"Dad, I'm scared". This guy has just seen a Chinese crested on the loose.

Both the police and army were in attendance today.

The lost dogs home pet register service was there offering their Australia wide service.
Honourary greyhound Daisy was on the stand with us today.

There were heaps of different breeds at the park today although we were the cutest.
Alby rocks his GAP hat and wowed the crowd at his first promo. Alby is looking for a home and is a lovely boy.
Luckily this little guy found a place out of the wind.
"My nose tells me that the GAP stand is this way"
The Guide dog promo team who are our friends from the Ekka.

It was such a lovely spring day today that a lot of people bought a picnic with them.
Jayjay with one of his friends from the dog park ( I think I saw this guy in the movie Mars attacks?)
Many, many greyhounds with their humans.
Former house of hound foster fabulous Freddy catches up with Wally.
The cue to see me was huge (almost as long as the line for a coffee!)
A sniffer dog gives the all clear on my snack box (At least, I hope that's what he means!). On second thoughts, I've never seen that box before.
Enjoying the sunshine.
Aunty Michelle trys to talk this family into getting some real dogs next time.
Alby and Jayjay show Travolta and Jackson how to do cool.
 Maggie gets a cuddle.
Hope's mortal enemy the mascot was there.
This little guy won a lot of hearts. To give you an idea of how tiny he is that object in the background is Loki's head.
Me planning my raid on the sausage sizzle stand next to ours.
Hope and Daisy with GAP volunteer Tricia.
This Tibetan ridge back attracted a lot of attention.

Former house of hound foster Dolly won the fancy dress parade for her Aussie lifesaver costume.
Old hand Jayjay gives new boy Eddie the lowdown on promos. Eddie did very well on his first day.

Well Readers, thats it for me today. I'm off to dream about sausages and pats from my adoring public. Bye for now - Murphy.

Hi Murphy I see you are still doing your bit for public awareness good on you boy. I am sure mum told you that we had to put Milly down as she broke her shoulder and looks like it was cancer so Grace, Eddie and I are missing her terribly but tell mum we will be contacting her soon to start fostering and also I have a friend who looks like she wants to foster as well. Hugs to you all
