House of ... Hen?

Mum & Dad left us at home this morning as they went out to pick up half a dozen rescued chickens.

As you can see, these girls need lots of TLC. They were saved from a battery farm and were in for the chop at the old ripe age of about 12 months. They still have what it takes though as there were several eggs laid (Mmm.. fresh eggs... uhhh) while they were at the rescue coop!

A good reason to buy free range eggs!

Lucky chickens. I buy cage free eggs, but I do wonder how great the cage free environment is... wish there was a way to check it out.
